Casa Verde specializes in premium green paints, plasters and wood finishes for residential and commercial projects.  We source products from companies that go beyond industry standards for improving air quality, which becomes increasingly important as homes and office buildings become more energy efficient.  Our coatings are predominantly zero VOC and non-toxic, which means they have health benefits in addition to the environmental protections associated with the reduction of VOCs.

Our showroom is located in Denver, and we serve homeowners, contractors and design professionals throughout the Rocky Mountain region.  We meet with clients to specify products and colors for their projects, so please contact us to set up an appointment.  We can also provide technical data, quotes and contractor referrals at no charge, when needed.

We have been involved in the green building industry for 13 years, starting with a green building supply in Scottsdale, Arizona, and more recently launching a green coatings business in the Denver Metro area.   We value healthy living and a sustainable lifestyle, and endeavor to leave the environment a cleaner, healthier place for future generations.  Our manufacturers are leaders in environmental stewardship--their green business practices extend from intelligently designed products to packaging, shipping, recycling and community-based initiatives.

How did you get involved in this business?

I managed a green building supply is Scottsdale, AZ for a couple of years before moving back to Denver. Before that I had an eclectic background that included work in high technology, biotechnology, the financial sector and higher education--but from the time I learned about green building practices, I knew that I wanted to be involved in this industry in some capacity.

What distinguishes your business from other businesses in your category?

We are the only supplier on the Front Range that specializes in healthy, high performing finishes for residential and commercial projects.  We source products from suppliers that go beyond industry standards for improving air quality, which becomes increasingly important as homes and office buildings become more energy efficient.  Our paints, plasters, and wood finishes offer an unparalleled combination of beauty, healthy comfort and durability for walls, floors, furniture, cabinets, siding, decks, fences and log homes.

What do you like best about about your line of work?

I like helping people lead healthier lives by offering them better alternatives for finishes they come in contact with every day.  In particular, I like working with color and texture because they enhance good design and transform how we feel in a space.  I also like the involvement you unavoidably have in every aspect of a small business, from sales and marketing to finance and purchasing and sweeping the floors occasionally!  There is always something interesting to do and no two days are exactly alike.

What is your business' biggest challenge?

I think the biggest challenge we face is not unlike any other small business--raising the profile of the business, making people aware of the products and services we offer and how they are different and better than the alternatives that are more commonly available.

Something that people might be surprised to learn about your business?

We offer training for homeowners and contractors on how to install and maintain our products.  And for those who prefer to have the work done, we offer referrals to highly qualified designers, builders and contractors, some of the most creative people in our community.  We love the synergies we have with these professionals and really enjoy working with them to deliver impressive results for our customers.
