Introducing K.C. Heister & Heartwood Carpentry
We're always interested in learning how people get their start professionally, especially when it comes to woodworking, a very skilled and demanding profession. For K.C. Heister, owner of Heartwood Carpentry in Denver, it may have been a serendipitous case of "father knows best." K.C.'s father (a developer) put him on as a carpenter after he put his college education on pause, but for K.C. there was no looking back. It's 18 years later and he's built a successful carpentry business, first in Telluride and now here on the Front Range.
K.C.'s customers are positively enthusiastic about his work and consistently give him 5-star reviews, describing their projects as "amazingly beautiful," "high quality" and "we got more than we paid for." They also appreciate the respect that K.C. and his crew exhibit in their homes once the work is under way--and the fact that their projects are completed on time and on budget. So, the secret is out: Everyone who has worked with K.C. knows, he's a real sweetheart!
When asked what his favorite projects are, K.C. didn't hesitate to say that he's always loved cabinets. But, K.C. does all kinds of custom work, too. Right now he's working on walnut hand rails and cabinet doors, and you'll see fireplaces, furniture, mantles and the most lovely cutting boards in his portfolio. K.C. works with locally sourced materials, including reclaimed woods and natural finishes, and will work with you to design something truly unique.
